Nutrition of the starfruit

Starfruit is the native Asia. It is also known as carambola – is low in calories and high in vitamin C. This pale-green fruit is shaped like a football, with deeply scored ridges. When slices cross wise, the fruit resembles a five pointed star.

It flavor is a cross between plum, pineapple and lemon.

It’s also a great source of polyphenols, antioxidants that fight cardiovascular inflammation.
