Low Carb Diets

Most foods contain some carbohydrates. Even an 8-ounce glass of skim milk contains 12 grams of carbs. A cup of broccoli contains 8 carb grams.

What is a low carb diet? The ’low carb diet’ or ‘low carbohydrate diet’ is a dietary system of diet regime to restrict and control someone’s food consumption, specifically foods that are full of carbohydrates.

It is a meticulous planning of food intake to change human physiological state. The quantity of carbohydrates a person can eat on a low carb diet varies widely from person to person. The goal is to find a level that works, the level where the person can lose weight and feel great.

Any diet that cuts out most of a major food group will be hard to stick with. Low carbs diets were all the craze a few years ago, but are slowly starting to fade out. The reason is simple. In the long run, nobody wants to give up bread, pasta and rice.

The basic idea behind low carbs diets is that to force human body to burn fat from the bodies fat deposits for energy, This is done by restricting the caloric intake making sure that the body doesn’t get enough carbs to cover the bodies energy demand.

The process of burning fat for energy in the body releases something called ketones into the bloodstream.
