What is organic food?

Eating organic foods has become a popular and healthy trend. What are organic foods? Organic foods’ are health foods grown without the use of synthetic/ chemical treatments. These treatments start right from the seed and continue till the food is consumed.

This means that those foods, such as fruits and vegetables, will never be sprayed with chemicals to keep insects from eating them.

The existence of production and processing standards certification procedures and in many countries a legislative basis gives a clear dividing line between organic and other farming systems, primarily to provide market integrity for the products.

There are many kinds of foods that can be labeled organic, including fruits and vegetables, grains, diary, products and meat.

It is to be understood that organic food itself is not guaranteed free of pesticide residues. Even the most carefully grown organic products may get contaminated from residues coming from the soil from previous farming practices or from contaminated water supplies.

The chemical inactivate enzymes crucial at the nervous and hormonal system, which at high enough levels of exposure can lead to symptoms as various as mild anxiety or respiratory paralysis.

Long term exposure increases the risk of neurobehavioral damage, cancer, and reproductive disorders.

Organic is a method of growing food using only naturally occurring substances. Properly done, it recycles all wastes and improves the soil as it increases crop yields, working with nature’s laws and tendencies, rather than attempting to counteract or defeat them.
